Post an internship or job offer

Do you want to hire a translator to bolster your business’ language services?
Do you have internships to offer in translation or a related field?

We can share your offer by posting it on our website. Contact us at stages-FTI@unige.ch with a description of your offer and ad.

We only publish internship offers with a language combination that corresponds to the FTI’s languages:

Source languagesTarget language
English/Spanish/French/Italian German
Spanish/French English
English/French Arabic
English/French Spanish
German/English/Spanish/Italian/Russian French
German/English/French Italian

The tasks must be related to translation or an associated field, such as terminology, project management, localisation, subtitling or post-editing. The ad must specify the duration and location of the internship. If you list the pay rate, you will likely get a more interesting variety of applications.

Students can obtain ECTS credits if the internship fulfills certain criteria:

Translation internships

  • The internship primarily involves translation.
  • The internship is comprised of at least 120 hours or a minimum of 12,000 words to translate in a single language pair.
  • The employer guarantees that the intern will be supervised and trained, especially through revision or detailed feedback from translation professionals, or a collaboration with specialists in the field.

Internships in translation technology

  • The tasks must be related to translation technology.
  • The minimum duration is one month, full time.

For more general information on hiring interns, go to the University of Geneva’s “Centre de carrière” site.

Job offers and short-term contracts do not necessarily need to correspond to the languages taught at the FTI. Ads will be examined on a case-by-case basis to ensure a beneficial collaboration between employers and the Faculty.

Please note that the FTI does not offer translation services.

For more information on translation internships, please contact our internship coordinators. For internships related to translation technology, you can contact Prof. Pierrette Bouillon.
