The Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) commemorated the 2022 graduates at a special event on Thursday, 17 November in Uni Dufour. For the first time in two years, GSEM members and partners were able to celebrate this special occasion in person with the graduates and their friends and family.

Professor Markus Menz, Dean of the GSEM, reflected on the value of courage and using that courage to speak up, take action, and have a positive impact on society. Dr. Stephane Berthet, Vice-rector of the University of Geneva, encouraged the graduates to embrace the spirit of the entrepreneur. The evening's guest of honor Alisée de Tonnac, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Seedstars, reminded us that "life is short", and the importance of finding what matters to you, and doing meaningful things with meaningful people.

The evening was emceed by GSEM Bachelor students Vasilisa Golutvin and Raphael Salib. Graduates from the bachelor, master and doctoral programs of the School were celebrated, and prizes were awarded to those with the best averages in the bachelor and master’s programs, which were presented by the GSEM’s award partners and faculty.

The Prix William Rappard for the best doctoral thesis in the field of sustainability was awarded to Dr. Valentin Jouvenot, who received his Ph.D. in Finance for his thesis: Three Essays on Sustainable Finance.
