Title: Detection of flexible contact structures in dimensions at least 5.
Abstract: In this talk I will survey the recent breakthrough on the flexible side of high-dimensional contact topology by the work of Borman-Eliashberg-Murphy and Casals-Murphy-Presas. Then I will present a criterion on the flexibility of contact structures and test it against a particularly useful presentation of contact manifolds, namely, the open book decompositions following Giroux. No a priori knowledge on contact topology will be assumed.
