SPSS2Arc
SPSS2ARC is an SPSS script (Sax Basic) exporting the current data set to a dataset you can read with ARC.
The script written by E. Horber is here: spss2arc.sbs
- The data matrix you wish to export should be ready in current data set.
- Download and open it with SPSS (double-click on the file) or
- Run the script. Be patient, depending on the size of the data matrix it may take some time; wait until a message pops up; if you interrupt the process somehow you will only get
a partial file.
- Open Xlispstat (with ARC installed) an use to read the resulting file (You must use the ARC menu, the Lispstat
does not read this kind of file!)
- Missing values are converted to ?, the default missing value indicator for ARC.
- Beware: ARC does not like accented characters, i.e. before exporting make sure replace all accented characters in labels and names.
