Join us at the University of Bern for the closing event of the Uni4Refugees program. This gathering will provide an opportunity to reflect on the program's achievements and explore the lasting outcomes it has fostered between 2021 and 2024 in supporting the integration of refugees into higher education.

We are honored to welcome two distinguished speakers who will share their insights:

Dr. Naser Morina, Privatdozent at the University of Zurich (USZ), presenting the findings of a study on START! Study – Refugee Integration Program at UZH. START! Study (2021-2024) was an educational program at UZH for refugees with the potential for pursuing higher education, preparing them for the demands of studying in Switzerland. Participants of START! Study received support in improving their language and organizational skills as well as gaining acacemic expertise. The study identifies structural and personal barriers as well as supporting factors to the integration of refugee students.

Anja Klug, Head of Office at UNHCR Switzerland, will explore the role of institutions in fostering refugee integration. She will discuss strategies and best practices for creating inclusive environments that enable refugees to thrive in higher education and beyond.
The event will conclude with an apéritif, offering a chance to connect and continue the conversation.
