Camilla Della Giovampaola is a PhD Candidate in International History and Politics at the Geneva Graduate Institute (IHEID). Her doctoral research focuses on regional philanthropic models and practices, with a particular focus on the contemporary development of institutional philanthropic organizations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, she explores how traditional practices of giving are shaped by institutionalized forms of giving, and vice versa. Her past experiences as junior consultant for national and international philanthropic organizations inform her research. Recently, she has been exploring the relation between philanthropy and AI to understand how the philanthropic sector can benefit from AI whilst simultaneously contributing to the development of EIAI. Camilla is a research assistant for the AI and Philanthropy research project.
