9:00-9:45 Where to find pertinent tools and how to prepare and information research
9:45-10:25 Exploit bibliographic databases in your field (e.g. PubMed, SciFinder, Web of Science)
10:25-10:40 Break
10:40-10:50 Tips on bibliographic research
10:50-11:10 Keep up-to-date on new publications
11:10-12:00 Evaluate a publication: Journal Citation Reports, h-index, etc.
12:00-12:30 Overtime: any question left? we remain available to answer it

 

Module 2: Organize, use and publish

9:00-10:30 Manage your bibliographic references with EndNote
10:30-10:45 Break
10:45-11:05 Data management tools for research
11:05-11:25 How to avoid plagiarism and observe authors' rights
11:25-12:00 Know the Open Access movement and submit your work in the Archive ouverte UNIGE
12:00-12:30 Overtime: any question left? we remain available to answer it

Registration will apply for both modules: it is not possible to register only for one or another module

 

Practical information

  • Exclusively reserved  for PhD students of the Faculty of Science
  • Course given in English
  • Max. 12 participants for each session
  • Take place in the Library Lab of the Bibliothèque Schmidheiny (Sciences II)
