Since the mid-1970s, thanks to the financial support of the Jean Piaget Foundation for Psychological and Epistemological Research, we have welcomed a large number of grant-holders who have visited the Jean Piaget Centre to carry out their research.
Information about scholarships for research at the Centre Jean Piaget:
- The Fondation Jean Piaget pour recherches psychologiques et épistémologiques (Jean Piaget Foundation for Psychological and Epistemological Research) was created by Jean Piaget in 1976 to promote the development of these disciplines. To this end and in collaboration with the Jean Piaget Centre, it offers complementary scholarships for documentary research to be carried out at the Jean Piaget Centre.
- These scholarships are offered to individuals who wish to complete their research as part of a publication project or a doctoral thesis.
- The research conducted at the Jean Piaget Centre should focus on theoretical or experimental aspects of Piaget’s psychology or epistemology and/or its current developments. The research project could also be of a historical nature, relating to the life and/or work of Jean Piaget and his collaborators.
- They constitute complementary scholarships that cover the cost of round-trip tickets from the researcher’s home to Geneva, as well as the expenses of accommodation in Geneva for a maximum period of three months, up to a fixed amount for each type of grant.
- Candidates must attach to their application letter a curriculum vitæ and a research project (max. 5 pages, plus an abstract) to be carried out at the Archives. They must also specify the type of publication to which the research may lead (journal article, book or chapter, contribution to a collective work, doctoral dissertation, etc.). In addition, candidates should specify the dates that would be convenient for their stay in Geneva (specifying the duration of the stay) and the estimated amount of travel costs (in economy class).
-
Applications should be sent by e-mail to the President of the Jean Piaget Foundation for Psychological and Epistemological Research, Dr. Marc Ratcliff, with a copy to the Director of the Jean Piaget Centre, Prof. Edouard Gentaz.
- The scholarships will be awarded by the Board of the Jean Piaget Foundation for Psychological and Epistemological Research, who will notify the decision to the Director of the Jean Piaget Centre. The terms of reception and collaboration at the Jean Piaget Centre will then be established by the direction of the CJP.
