Thesis topic : Investigation of interpersonal-affective motivation in prosocial helping behavior
GENERAL INFORMATION
I am interested in human behavior and specifically how it can be shaped by emotion, both at the fundamental level and for applications to further philanthropic costs and promote pro-social behavior.
My current project aims to understand how one's emotional experience can influence another's emotion, behavior and decision-making. Through empathy, individuals are mostly capable of inferring if another person is experiencing distress, although unlikely to have the same levels of concern and motivation to help. Using psychophysiological techniques and harnessing the vast literature of affective science, my goal is to understand such differences.
This project is under the co-supervision of Prof. Giuseppe Ugazio and Prof. Kerstin Preuschoff.
