Les recherches que j’ai conduites récemment concernent la perception et l’expression de l’émotion dans la voix dans des situations normales ou bruyantes. L’objectif principal de ce champ de recherche consiste à mieux comprendre les interactions sociales chez l’humain et plus spécifiquement leur capacité à traiter, comprendre et classifier l’émotion dans la voix au quotidien. Cette capacité va de pair avec notre biologie, notamment avec des patterns d’activité du cerveau que nous pouvons observer grâce à des techniques d’imagerie cérébrale in vivo.

Recent research I have been conducting revolves around vocal emotion perception and expression in normal as well as in noisy environmental situations. The main objective of this research topic is to gain more knowledge on social interaction dynamics in humans, more specifically in their ability to process, understand and classify vocal emotion in everyday life. Such ability goes hand in hand with biological functioning such as patterns of brain activity, observed through in vivo brain imaging techniques.

La "Nuit étoilée" de Vincent Van Gogh : le silence ambiant, la poignée d’étoiles qui cachent leurs milliards de semblables tout comme les milliards de neurones peuplant notre cerveau, le reflet d’une lumière d’origine si lointaine étant fondamentale à la vie sur terre tel le reflet de notre biologie à travers notre comportement, le fonctionnement des particules visibles et cachées comme métaphore de nos interactions sociales et des émotions qu’elles véhiculent.

The ‘Starry night’ by Vincent Van Gogh: the silence, a few stars hiding their billions of conspecifics just as billions of neurons inhabit our brain, light originating from so far away yet so essential to life on earth being reflected like our behavior somehow reflects our biology, the way the particles—both visible and invisible—interact just like emotions travel through social interactions.
