Our Mission

The Communication Department of the University of Geneva is directly attached to the Rectorate. It exercises its duties independently. The Head of Communication also oversees the service's publications.

The Communication Service is tasked with:

•     Coordinating and developing university information both within and outside the University;
•     Covering university news and informing the public about it;
•     Maintaining reciprocal information relations between the University, institutions, and various city structures;
•     Maintaining reciprocal information relations between Swiss higher education institutions;
•     Informing the public about university events (conferences, seminars, colloquia) taking place in faculties, centres, and institutes;
•     Developing information exchange between the different units of the University, the authorities, and the administration;
•     Maintaining regular working relationships with media representatives (press, radio, television) at local, regional, and national levels.
