Military service
The mission of the Army-University Liaison Office is to resolve any difficulties that may arise for students in connection with their military obligations and their programme of studies.
By ‘difficulty’ we mean any situation that creates a delay that cannot be made up and that would cause the student to lose a semester or a year of studies. This applies in particular to periods of service that coincide with examination sessions, provided that registration for the latter is recorded. However, a repeat course during a semester can only be taken into consideration in certain particularly justified cases.
The Liaison Office seeks to resolve these problems by requesting that the service be moved (permuted) during the same year. In some cases, the rehearsal course will be cancelled and will have to be made up at a later date.
Please note that the facilities granted to students to take account of their particular situation do not constitute a ‘right to exemption’.

Students wishing to request a service trip must follow the three steps below:

Write a headed letter explaining the reasons for the travel request. The letter must be signed and written in accordance with the rules of spelling, syntax and propriety.
Once the student has these three documents, he or she must send them to the liaison office advisor, by email only to , or electronically via the armée.ch platform.
The liaison office adviser will give his opinion and forward the application to the armed forces service.
