Multi-Messenger High Energy Astrophysics
THE ICECUBE PROJECT
The IceCube Neutrino Observatory is the world largest particle detector buried in the Antarctic ice located at the South Pole at the depth of 1.5-2.5 km. It is perfectly tailored to search for neutrinos of energy > 100 GeV from the most violent astrophysical sources: events like exploding stars, gamma ray bursts, and cataclysmic phenomena involving black holes and neutron stars.
The CTA project
The Cherenkov Telescope Array project is an initiative to build the next generation ground-based very high energy gamma-ray instrument. Our group is involved in the design and construction of the single mirror Small Size Telescopes of the CTA array and on data analysis and simulation.
