16 November 2015 - Professor Boisson de Chazournes is appointed as a member of the Global High-Level Panel on Water and Peace

Laurence Boisson de Chazournes, Professor at the Faculty of Law, is appointed by Switzerland as a member of the Global High-Level Panel on Water and Peace. The Panel includes political and academic personalities coming from all regions of the world and has the objective to make recommendations to strengthen political and legal instruments with the view of preventing and solving water conflicts. It also aims at examining the role of water as a factor for peace and cooperation and placing this natural resource, indispensable to life, at the center of national and international policies.

The Global High-Level Panel on Water and Peace is one of the initiatives of the Geneva Water Hub. The Platform for International Water Law of the Faculty of Law and the Institute for Environmental Sciences contribute to the reflection of the Panel with reports and studies on specific topics concerning international law, political and economic sciences.
