Yaniv Benhamou is Associate Professor in Digital Law at Faculty of Law, Digital Law Center, the University of Geneva. He works on copyright and privacy, focusing on emerging technologies, the cultural sector and data-as-commons (open licensing and data class actions). He regularly acts as an expert for public institutions (World Intellectual Property Organisation WIPO, International Council of Museums ICOM, Swiss IP Office) and is member of the Board of Director of the Digital Law Center, of the Art-Law Center and of the CAS Digital Finance Law.
Besides his academic activities, he is the founder of “Artists Rights”, a free legal consultation provider for Swiss artists, and is a practising musician.
In 2023, he leads the 2023 “World Knowledge Dialogue“ on the topic of “Financing and governance of culture in the digital age” an international congress gathering 50 leading experts from Switzerland and abroad.
