Micheline Louis-Courvoisier, born in 1957, earned her doctorate in History at the University of Geneva’s Faculty of Humanities in 1997. In 2001 she set up a human sciences program at the Faculty of Medicine, where she has been a full professor since 2011. She directed the Maison de l’histoire from 2013 to 2015. Her research focuses on the experience of suffering and melancholy in the 18th Century. Micheline Louis-Courvoisier is a member of the Collège des Humanités Médicales. She is also a member of the Board and the Scientific Committee of the Fondation Leenaards . She has served as Vice-Rector since 15 July 2015.
