Marc Perrenoud is a lecturer and researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences - Faculty of Social and Political Sciences - University of Lausanne. He is a member of the Laboratory of Capitalism, Culture and Societies.

As an anthropologist and sociologist, he is interested in work and culture through fieldwork. For more than ten years, he has been investigating different professional groups, including “ordinary musicians“ neither rich nor famous and writing different books on musicians, namely “Les musicos“ (2007), “Vivre de la musique“ (2017). Since 2012, he has been leading the survey Musicians LIVES dedicated to the life and career of musicians in French-speaking Switzerland (within the framework of the NCCR LIVES).
