The subject of thesis: "Interaction between Extracellular Polymeric Substances from freshwater phytoplankton species and Silver Nanoparticles"

I am an environmental chemist with a focus on the analytical branch, thanks to earning my master's degree in Environmental Chemistry at the University of Turin. After completing a thesis centered on analytical chemistry and the monitoring of bisphenols in canned foods available in the Swiss market, I began my journey as a PhD student in the fields of geobiochemistry and ecotoxicology within Professor Vera Slaveykova's research group.

My research focuses on nanobiogeochemistry and aims to study the impact of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) produced by phytoplankton on the fate of silver nanoparticles within freshwater environment, as well as the potential effects of these transformations on the biota itself.

Currently, I am involved in teaching activities within the Master of Environmental Science program at the Institute for Environmental Sciences. Specifically, I am part of the organization of annual training courses in environmental sciences, geology, and biology held in Piora–Lago di Cadagno–Ritóm.
