Rogier van Doorn, MD, PhD, Dr., Clinical Microbiologist, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Dr H Rogier Van Doorn is a Clinical Microbiologist. He obtained his PhD on rapid diagnosis and drug resistance in tuberculosis in 2005 and his consultancy grades for clinical microbiology and virology in 2007, both from the University of Amsterdam. Rogier worked as a clinical researcher and group head of the Emerging Infections group at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam between 2007 and 2015 where he led a multidisciplinary group of around 20 postdoctoral scientists, PhD students, research assistants, psychologists and clinical research staff, with main focus on Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease, Influenza, Clinical Research in Outbreak Situations, Pathogen Discovery and Antimicrobial Resistance. In October 2015 Rogier started as director of the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Ha Noi where he leads a unit of 35 people and  research and capacity building projects on Antimicrobial Resistance and Influenza.
