Dr Julia Lechmann studied veterinary medicine in Zurich from 2009 - 2015, and afterwards completed a two-year doctoral project at the Institute of Virology. After a brief detour to the Institute of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, she was very fortunate to be given the opportunity to return to the Institute of Virology as deputy head of the diagnostic lab in 2017. In 2020, she became the head of the diagnostic unit. In addition to providing services, she is involved in teaching veterinary students in the topic of veterinary virology, carry out my own research projects and supervise master and doctoral students.
