Dr. Aitana Neves studies physics at EPFL and then moved to bioinformatics during her PhD and postdocs. Since 2016, she joined the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, where she is notably responsible for the Swiss Pathogen Surveillance Platform and related activities at the international level. Since September 2024, she leads the Pathogen Data Network, a global consortium funded by the NIH to provide infrastructure, tools, training, outreach and support to FAIR infectious-diseases data sharing and reuse. She is the managing director of the recently established Centre for Pathogen Bioinformatics at SIB.
