Titre : « Introduction to multilevel Modelling with R » (en ligne)

La première journée est consacrée à la préparation des données pour les analyses multiniveau sur R, et les deux autres journées au modelling multiniveau.

Ce module requiert une connaissance de base avec R. En outre, les dernières versions de R et R Studio devront être installées sur les ordinateurs des participant·e·s.

Dates: 29, 30 septembre & 1 octobre 2021 (10h00 - 17h00). En principe à UNIL, sinon Zoom

Titre : " Culture and Social-Personality Processes: Conceptual and Methodological Issues "

This workshop will examine a selection of issues related to the study of culture and social-personality processes (e.g., social cognition, attribution, values, personality broadly defined, identity, well-being, etc.). The seminars will summarize the state of the art work on these issues conducted by Verónica Benet-Martínez other researchers, with a special emphasis on methodological issues and theoretical developments (e.g., switch from a focus on between-group cultural differences to within-individual cultural dynamics, impact of multiculturalism and globalization on the individual, etc.).

An important goal of this course is to help students gain a better appreciation for the ways in which culture and the human psyche mutually constitute each other, and to enhance their ability to identify, quantify, and understand the role of culture and ethnicity on personality and social behavior.

Dates : 8 - 10 decembre 2021 (11h00-17h00) à l'UNIL

Titre : " Scientific writing in psychology "

The workshop consists of several lessons designed to help participants learn to write clearly, concisely, and gracefully. The workshop will be highly interactive: each lesson is organized around a single theme (e.g., how to convey emphasis); heuristics are introduced and illustrated, then participants practice those heuristics in an anonymous chat room.

The 7 lessons are:
1. Writing clearly
2. Conveying emphasis
3. Writing concisely
4. Constructing paragraphs
5. Writing an Introduction
6. Writing a Results section
7. Writing a Discussion

Ce module sera exceptionnellement limité à 12 doctorant·e·s. La présence durant l’intégralité du module est obligatoire. La participation active ainsi que la présence (sur place) durant l’intégralité du module feront office de validation du module. Le cas échéant, la priorité sera accordée aux doctorant·e·s qui pourront être présent·e·s durant les trois jours, et qui ont besoin de la validation de ce module pour terminer leur formation doctorale. Le module peut être validé soit comme un module thématique, soit comme un module méthodologique.
