Knowledge of the different cognitive models (of cognitive functions and of various syndromes encountered in clinical practice) needed to understand neuropsychological disorders.

This course deals with various cognitive functions and their links with cerebral functioning and, consequently, with several pathologies encountered in neuropsychological practice. The teaching covers various areas based around the overall theme of perception. These include vision and its deficits (agnosia, prosopagnosia, blindsight, etc.), language and hearing, memory and its components, perception of the body and space, and executive functioning.
In each area, various explanatory cognitive models, brain imaging data, studies on animals or healthy subjects and various illustrative clinical cases will be presented.
