Researchers from the F.- A. Forel Institute published a paper on the effects of the Verbois flushing on the downstream sections of the Rhône. The study showed that the flushing increased not only the concentrations of suspended particulate matter but influenced also the partitioning of trace metals between dissolved, suspended and sediment fractions and their speciation, as well as the functional diversity of benthic invertebrate communities.
