Sampling of water and sediments

Sampling of lake sediments (Mortimer corer)

Several methods of surface water, suspension and sediment sampling are offered.

• Research boat, "la Licorne", boat of 17t. with sampling equipment, location by GPS, only available on Lake Geneva;
• Transportable boats (2 - 5 m of long) on trailer, with sampling equipment, location by GPS;
• Water sampling by peristaltic pump (to 50m depth), or by Niskin bottle ;
• Sampling of material in suspension by continuous flow centrifugation or sediment traps ;
• Sediment sampling by corer (50 cm - 150 cm in length) or by grab sampler for surface sediments.
