Audience

Business leader and professional from diverse industry backgrounds, including the public or private sectors, wishing to build foundational skills and/or update their knowledge, or seeking career change and/or professional development opportunities. On average, our participants have 8-12 years of work experience, and come from 20 different nationalities.

The EMBA is a part-time 2-year program including 90 ECTS

The Geneva EMBA is a two-year program: In the first year, participants acquire the foundational knowledge and skills in business administration. In the second year, participants take advanced level courses with a focus on our three core themes: building a global advantage, leading responsibly, and managing transformation. At the end of the second year, participants work in groups on the EMBA Capstone Project, which brings together their acquired knowledge and skills to apply it to advance recommendations to local business in Geneva. EMBA Capstone project 

Assessment

Each course is subject to an assessment that may include one or more of the following:
Individual in-class exam | take-home assignment | individual or group in-class presentation | individual or group Online quiz or assignment
100% attendance in class, and active participation are expected to validate the modules.

Pedagogical method

The students' learning experience is enhanced by corporate work projects, in-class discussions, and presentations that build on their previous experience. The EMBA program encourages lively interaction between students and professors and stimulates the sharing of knowledge through group work.

Diploma awarded

Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded the Master of Business Administration (MBA) by the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) of the University of Geneva.

Admission criteria

Because of its reputation for excellence, admission to the EMBA Program is highly selective. Acceptance is based on the following criteria:

  • Bachelor Degree, or equivalent (i.e. Bac+3, ...)
  • Pertinent work experience: 3 years minimum in a managerial role
  • Strong command of English (written & spoken)

Required Skills:

  • Computer office tools (spreadsheet, word processor, presentation tools)
  • Basic Accounting understanding (balance sheets / income statement, P&N, EBITDA) or ability to assimilate numbers and concepts
