Fees:

  • CHF 1'800.- for twelve two-hour sessions
  • CHF 500.- for each module

Objectives

To improve knowledge of the French to English academic translation market and hone participants' academic translation skills

Audience

Professional translators working from French into English wishing to develop their skills in academic translation with an emphasis on the humanities and social sciences

Programme

The course is divided into four modules:

  • An overview of the market for French to English academic translation
  • Practical workshops
  • Nuts and bolts: dealing with quotations, references and bibliographies
  • Funding, contracts, invoicing
