Scam alert: fake and misleading advertising online

The University of Geneva has been informed of fake and misleading advertisements currently circulating on the internet and social media. These advertisements claim to offer free online training courses in the university’s name, including an MBA programme (see examples).

This content has no connection whatsoever with our institution, which is in no way responsible for its dissemination. We strongly advise not to click on the hyperlinks of these advertisements as they may represent phishing attempts to fraudulently collect data and money.

Furthermore, the use of the UNIGE logo by third parties is formally prohibited without prior authorisation (see the General principles for the use of the university logo by third parties, in French). UNIGE reserves the right to take any legal action it deems appropriate.

As a reminder, registration for UNIGE courses is only possible via the unige.ch website and its portals or derived documents.

Please contact us if you have any questions or to inform us of similar scams.
