Sevita Caseres is a Research Associate at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Geneva. Her work focuses on audiovisual translation in German and French. She is currently involved in two research projects: “The subtitling ecosystem: A workplace study of roles, interactions, and resources”, which examines the subtitling creation process at a bilingual Swiss TV channel, and “From script to screen: Multilingualism and multimodality in Swiss cinema subtitling”, in collaboration with the University of Zurich. These projects aim to enhance the understanding of subtitling practices by focusing on the perspectives of practitioners within Switzerland’s multilingual environment.

She holds a PhD in translation studies from University College Cork, where she investigated processes and collaboration in different French subtitling production contexts. Additionally, she has an MA in Translation and Specialised Multilingual Communication from the University of Geneva (French, German, Spanish). Her research interests include subtitling practices and processes, subtitler working conditions, and the social dynamics of collaboration in translation.
