Harald Hau is a Professor of Finance and Economics at the University of Geneva, the Director of the Geneva Master in Finance program, and a Senior Chair at the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI).

About Prof. Hau
Harald Hau is a research fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), London; the Center for Economic Studies (CES), Munich; and the Hong Kong Institute for Monetary Research (HKIMR). He was a visiting scholar at the International Monetary Fund, and was a Wim Duisenberg Research Fellow at the European Central Bank.
He publishes extensively in top finance, economics, and policy journals. His research won the Joseph de la Vega Prize of the Federation of European Stock Exchanges, best paper prize of the Foundation Europlace Paris, and the Standard Life Prize of the European Corporate Governance Institute.

What message would you like to give to the students?
"I am very excited about the launch of the new Geneva Master in Finance program, which is the perfect opportunity to study with leading professors in their fields, in one of the most important financial centres for private banking, wealth management, commodity trading and cryptocurrencies.
No other finance program I know of offers as many high-quality graduate level courses in asset and wealth management as the Geneva Master in Finance.
After the difficult year of 2020 due to COVID-19, and with the launch of the vaccination program around the world, I am sure that students will appreciate the opportunity to come to Geneva and spend 9 challenging months in a unique studying environments with many exciting extra activities such as a Leadership Retreat in the Swiss Alps, Fintech guest speakers, company visits and the boardroom simulation game."
Fun Fact
In his free time Harald Hau likes to swim in Lake Geneva and to hike in the Swiss Alps.
