Roundtable on the book «L’urgence de l’Intégrité Académique»

Monday 28 June | 13h55 | Online

The Institute for Research and Action on Academic Fraud and Plagiarism will be holding a roundtable on Monday, June 28 to discuss "L'urgence de l'intégrité académique", a new book edited by Honorary Professor Michelle Bergadaà and Prof. Paulo Peixoto (University of Coimbra). The event is sponsored by l'Association OVSM.

The book proposes a construction of a ‘science of integrity’ by focusing on this theme in six key fields: science, medicine, journalism, archaeology, management sciences, and international diplomacy. Each section is introduced by a renowned researcher in the relevant field and comprises five articles that weave the fabric of a fundamental debate. The authors of these articles are drawn from more than 10 different countries since integrity has no borders.

The roundtable discussion will be opened by GSEM Dean Marcelo Olarreaga, and Prof. Bergadaà will be participating in the second session: “Reciprocal Legal and Academic Powers”. The event takes place online and participants will be able to interact with the authors through a live chat. The GSEM will also be represented by Prof. Pierre-Jean Benghozi from the Institute of Management, who will be facilitating the session: “Restoring Academic Confidence”, and IS Project Manager Oumaima Ajmi from the Information Science Institute, who will be participating in the session: “Rethinking integrity training in times of change”.

In 2016, Prof. Bergadaà founded and became President of the Institute for Research and Action on Academic Fraud and Plagiarism. The Institute creates a forum for international, interdisciplinary scientific discussion on fraud and plagiarism, aids and assist individuals and institutions affected by academic fraud or plagiarism and formulates and disseminates a methodological protocol with respect to fraud and plagiarism.

The event takes place in French.
