Dies Academicus 2023: Transitions

The Dies academicus has been celebrated every year at the University of Geneva since 1904. The ceremony is an opportunity to honor prominent personalities, all of whom embody the values that the University of Geneva defends. The theme for this year's ceremony is Transitions.

Agnès Callamard, Secretary General of Amnesty International, is the guest of honor at this year's event. An honorary doctorate will be awarded to Esther Duflo, Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Collège de France, and winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2019. Professor Duflo will also present the Solari Lecture 2023 on Thursday, October 12, where she will discuss "Good Economics for Warmer Times".
