Welcome to the 2023-2024 academic year
Summer is drawing to a close, but the new academic year is beginning, and the GSEM is looking forward to it!
The Uni Mail campus came alive last week with the University of Geneva Welcome Days, Data Science Day, and the Mathematics Preparatory School, which features an innovative format combining individualized online revision and face-to-face question-and-answer sessions.
Welcome sessions for students of the Bachelor in Economics and Management, Master programs, Complementary Certificate in Applied Statistics, and Ph.D. programs take place during this first week. This is an opportunity for some students to discover their new faculty, and for others to pursue their academic career.
To support its Bachelor students, the GSEM is hosting a short pedagogical workshop to prepare them for their first year at the School. The workshops present the specifics of studying economics and management and cover a number of practical aspects such as note-taking and course revision.
Because the university experience is an adventure that should not be undertaken alone, the GSEM's Student Services department is available to answer questions and facilitate the various academic paths. Launched in 2022, the student Intranet functions as a resource center and offers personalized support and a range of services accessible at all times.
The School offers a wide range of research seminars and workshops, providing an opportunity to discover and discuss current research in the fields of economics, econometrics, management, statistics, and finance.
In addition, the GSEM student community can take advantage of the University of Geneva Library training courses (online and in person) on activities related to managing bibliographic references, searching databases, and avoiding plagiarism. Resources on careers, activities, sports, and social integration are available through the University's Vie de campus.
Lastly, an easy way for learners to stay informed on the latest research, news, and developments from the School, Faculty, and fellow students, is to connect with the GSEM through its LinkedIn and Facebook pages.
The Geneva School of Economics and Management extends a warm welcome to its students (both new and old) and colleagues, and looks forward to a successful and rewarding academic year!
