Effective Grant-Making & Management
There has never been so much innovation in grant-making as today. It is driven by innovative actors and global challenges: A new generation of philanthropists conceives grant-making as the continuation social value creation by other means. At the same time, grant-making professionals everywhere are waking up to the possible gains of cooperation across sectors. Be it the action to limit climate change or the goal of achieving inclusive and quality education for all. To achieve maximum impact all resources have to be mobilised and deployed in the most effective way possible. What this means in practice is the core of the Certificate of advanced studies (CAS) in Effective Grant-Making & Management.
The course will enable the participants to understand the complex and multifaceted context of contemporary grant-making as well as to master the full grant-making cycle at the programme and project level. Participants have the opportunity to explore the frontiers of innovation in grant-making through work on case studies and exchange with innovation leaders. To stay ahead of the dynamic developments in grant-making and to further promote a holistic vision thereof, the course emphasises the synergies to be realised in terms of mobilisation, effectiveness and impact through the combination of various forms of grants as well as the cooperation of different actors. It will also address the role of overarching objectives, like the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), and the proper choice of grant-making instruments.
