Thomas Straub is Professor for International Management & Director of the Executive Education at the Faculty GSEM of the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Thomas has full responsibility for the management of the comprehensive executive education activities with more than 700 participants in more than 25 EMBA, MAS, DAS, and CAS programs. At the same time he is Permanent Visiting Professor and President of the International Scientific Committee of the UNESCO department at the University of Bucharest, Rumania.
Thomas' research interests include international and strategic management as well as organizational development with a particular focus on Corporate and Social Entrepreneurship and Performance-Management. He is leading R&D projects at national and international level (e.g. Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) and Swiss Development Agency (SDC). He published several books, e.g. "Reasons for frequent failure in M&A" with Gabler Wissenschaft (DUV) in 2007, “More than Bricks in the Wall: Organizational Perspectives for Sustainable Success” with Gabler Springer in 2010 and “Einführung in die Allgemeine Betriebswirtschaftslehre” (Engl: Basics of Management) with Pearson 2nd Edition in 2015.
For many years he was member of the board of the Swiss Association of Organization and Management (ASO). Professor Straub has a Ph.D. in economic and social science from HEC (now GSEM), University of Geneva, Switzerland.

Professor Thomas Straub is a Professor of international management at the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM), the Business School of the University of Geneva. He directs the Master of Science in Responsible Management and serves as the vice-director of continuing education programs in health institution management (MAS, DAS, CAS, Passerelle). As permanent visiting professor, he also chairs the International Scientific Committee of the UNESCO department at the University of Bucharest.
Previously, he has held Visiting Professorships at the University of Neuchâtel, the École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), FHNW in Brugg, EDHEC in France, and EXPERTsuisse in Lausanne and Zurich. He has also served as the director of the Institute of Management, Vice-dean, and Director in charge of Executive Education, overseeing more than 45 executive training programs (CAS, DAS, MAS, and MBA) in various fields such as commodity trade management, aviation management, health management, international organization management, and non-profit organization management.
He has published several books on topics including entrepreneurship, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate management with renowned publishers such as Gabler Springer, Pearson, Growth Publisher, and Haufe Lexware.
Professor Straub regularly reviews for the National Research Agency (ANR) in France, the Swiss National Science Foundation (FNS), and for journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, the Journal M@n@gement, and the Journal for East European Management Studies (JEEMS). He is also a member of several boards of directors and works as an independent consultant. He holds a PhD in economic and social sciences from the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
