FAQ

REGISTRATION

1. I haven't received confirmation of my registration for the graduation ceremony. How do I know if I'm registered?

 

If you have registered, you will have received an email confirmation. We recommend that you first check your @etu.unige.ch and your personal inbox, including your spam folder. If you still cannot find confirmation, please contact us.


2. I forgot to register for the graduation ceremony, can I do it now?

 

The registration deadline is October 31st. After this date, we are no longer able to process new registrations. However, please feel free to contact us so we can add you to a waiting list. If any spots become available, we will confirm this to you via email.


3. Why haven't I received my diploma yet?

 

Please contact the Diploma Office, which handles all diplomas issued by the University of Geneva.


QR CODES

4. Why don't I see one or more of my QR codes?

 

You will receive 4 QR codes by email; one to collect your hat, one for you, and two for your guests. You'll need to present them on the day of the ceremony. If one or more of them are not displayed, or are only partially displayed, please contact us.


5. I've registered but I haven't received my invitation QR codes. What happens?

 

If you have registered correctly, you will receive 4 QR codes by email. We recommend that you first check your @etu.unige.ch and your personal inbox, including your spam folder. If you still cannot find your QR codes, please contact us.


6. I no longer have access to the email address I gave when I registered. Can I have my tickets sent to another email address?

 

Yes, we can send your QR codes to an alternative email address. To do so, please contact us.


EVENT INFORMATION

7. Approximately how long will the ceremony last? Where will it take place? When will it start? When will we receive more details about the event?

 

The graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday, 28 November 2024, starting at 5:30 pm at Uni Dufour. You will receive an email with further information as D-Day approaches.


8. Is admission free?

 

Yes, admission is free, but registration is required in advance.


9. Is the ceremony broadcast live?

 

No, the ceremony is not broadcast live, but it is recorded and available for viewing on our website after the ceremony.


CANCELLATION

10. I've registered for the graduation ceremony but won't be able to attend. Can you cancel my registration?

 

If you will not be attending the ceremony, please inform us as soon as possible. As places are limited, we can offer your tickets and those of your guests to another graduate.


11. I said I couldn't come to the ceremony, but now I can, and the deadline has passed. Can you register me?

 

The registration deadline has passed (31 October), and we are no longer able to process registrations. However, you can contact us so that we can add you to a waiting list. If any spots become available, we will let you know by email.


12. A colleague is no longer attending the graduation ceremony. Can I come instead?

 

Each QR code is unique to one person and cannot be shared. In the event of a cancellation, people who have not registered but who are on the waiting list, will be contacted in order of priority.


GUESTS

13. Can I invite additional guests?

 

As seating is limited, and to ensure fairness, each graduate may be accompanied by a maximum of two guests.


14. Can I reserve seats for my guests?

 

Guests will be assigned numbered seats in U600 according to the order of graduate registration. Other attendees with a QR code ticket can take any available seat in U300.


15. I registered for the graduation ceremony, but I didn't indiciate that I was bringing a guest. Can I invite someone now?

 

Each guest is given a QR code when the graduate registers. Anyone without a QR code will not be admitted. As the number of places is limited, it is not possible to invite guests at the last minute.


16. If it is not possible to invite additional guests to the ceremony, can they come to the aperitif-dinner after the graduation ceremony?

 

No, this is not possible.


GRADUATION CAPS

17. I can't pick up my graduation cap during the opening hours. Is there any other way?

 

If you can't pick up your graduation cap during the opening hours, you can ask someone else to pick it up for you by giving them your QR code. You will be informed by email of the time and place of collection.


18. I couldn't pick up my graduation cap, can I do it another time?

 

If you or someone you know has not been able to collect your graduation cap, please contact us.


PRESENTATION

19. Do I have to send a photo for the PowerPoint?

 

No, you don't have to. 


20. I didn't send the photo in time for the PowerPoint, can I do it now?

 

You can send your photo by e-mail. If time permits, we'll add it to the PowerPoint.


MOBILITY

21. I or one of my guests is a person with reduced mobility. Is it possible to allocate a seat?

 

Yes, this is possible. Please let us know what your specific needs are.
