AgeTech: Shaping a New Era in Assistive Technology for the Elderly
The World Health Organization estimates that 2.5 billion people currently need assistive products and technologies, and with a growing aging population, this number is predicted to grow to over 3.5 billion people by 2050.
The World Intellectual Property Organization’s Global Health Team interviewed GSEM Professor Katarzyna Wac, Director of the Quality of Life (QoL) technology lab to understand the role of intellectual property (IP) for innovation in the assitive technology domain.
