After the Reformation:
Pauline Exegesis in the Early Modern Period

Zurich University | 10-12 April 2025

 

This conference, “After the Reformation – Pauline Exegesis in Early Modern Times,” is the second workshop of the research project “16th Century Exegesis of Paul,” which is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. Our first conference, “The Many Faces of Paul – Pauline Exegesis in Pre‐Modern Times” (Geneva, March 21–23, 2024), focused on Pauline exegesis leading up to the 16th century. While the research project itself focuses primarily on the Reformation, this second conference is dedicated to the early modern aftermath of the Reformation in as broad a sense as possible.

Proposals with a provisional title and a summary (200 words) should be submitted before September 30, 2024, to Stefan Krauter. Papers may be given in English, German, or French.

Cette conférence est la seconde du projet de recherche FNS "L'exégèse des épîtres pauliniennes au 16e siècle". La première, “The Many Faces of Paul – Pauline Exegesis in Pre‐Modern Times” (Genève, 21-23 mars 2024) était consacrée à l'Exégèse paulinienne au XVI^e siècle. Si le projet de recherche se positionne principalement en lien avec la Réforme, cette conférence s'attache à examiner les conséquences de la Réforme au début de l'époque moderne au sens large.

Les propositions de contribution, contenant un titre provisoire et un bref résumé (200 mots) sont à envoyer à Stefan Krauter avant le 30 septembre 2024, en anglais, allemand ou français.
