The Value of Implementation Science in Health and Social Care
Abstract submission will remain open for late arrivals and changes until July 5, 2024 at 23:59 CEST.
Dear Colleague(s),
We invite you to submit an abstract presenting the findings of your latest implementation science project.
We welcome submissions on all aspects of implementation science research, including contextual analysis, stakeholder (including patients and the public) involvement, implementation strategies, measurement of implementation outcomes, implementation costs, system science, and policy evaluation.
All types of early- and late-stage quantitative and/or qualitative research, such as real-life studies, clinical or hybrid trials, systematic or scoping reviews, protocol papers, and "lessons learned", are welcome.

Abstract format guidelines
General recommendations:
- Abstracts must focus on aspects of implementation science.
- Studies presented in abstracts must adhere to ethical standards and have obtained appropriate ethical approval.
- Abstracts must be written and, if accepted, presented in English. Abbreviations should be clarified upon their first appearance.
- Abstracts should not include references in the text or at the end.
- Abstracts should not contain promotional information.
- Original results presented should not have been published yet or accepted for publication at the time of abstract submission.
- Only one abstract can be submitted as presenting author.
Specific recommendations:
- Abstracts must be structured with section headings for Background & Aim, Methods, Results, Discussion & Conclusion, and Keywords.
- Abstracts must be limited to 300 words, excluding the title, authors and affiliations.
- Author details should include first name(s), surname(s), institution of affiliation, city and country.
- Background & Aim: State the primary aim of the study supported by key arguments or background information.
- Methods: Describe the study design, participants/cases, measures, and methods of analysis.
- Results: Include analyses and findings for empirical research; work-in-progress abstracts must mention expected findings.
- Discussion & Conclusion: State the implications of findings or contribution to the state-of-the-art.
- Keywords: Provide 3 to 5 keywords describing the content of your abstract.

- June 28th, 2024 23:59: Abstract submission deadline.
- September 6th, 2024: Decisions on acceptance will be communicated to submitting authors.
- Conference registration fee deadline: abstract presenters must register to the conference before September 22nd, 2024, 23:59. Unpaid registrations will result in the abstract not being accepted.

Review process
Each abstract is assessed by two reviewers from the IMPACT Conference organizational committee and core group members. Differences in scores are subject to a third review if they impact the presentation format decision.
presentation forms
Please beware that you cannot state your preferred presentation format. You will be notified whether your abstract has been accepted and, if so, whether it has been accepted for oral or poster presentation:
- Oral presentation: Friday, November 8th, 10:45-11:45 (approx. 15 minutes - 10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes for questions).
- Poster walk: Friday, November 8th, 12:30-13:30 (approx. 3 minutes presentation).
Attendees will also be encouraged to visit posters during the welcome drink on November 7th, 18:00-19:30, and during coffee & lunch breaks on November 8th.
The acceptance mail will contain more specific information concerning the presentation format your abstract was attributed to.
Please beware that oral presentations are reserved for abstracts that have original results (i.e., real-life studies, clinical or hybrid trials, systematic or scoping reviews).
Originality and copyright transfer statements
The first author is the presenting author. By submitting, the first author signs for all co-authors. All listed authors must review the abstract, and by submitting, they agree to its review by conference reviewers and its publication on the conference’s website.
Abstract publications
Accepted abstracts will be published on the conference website.

Two certificates will be awarded to junior researchers: one to the best oral presenter and one to the best poster presenter.
