InZone Webinar Series : Introduction to Economics

After the success of the First Edition, we are happy to continue our Webinar series with a new edition :  "Introduction to Economics" with Prof Jeremy Lucchetti.

Jeremy Laurent-Lucchetti is professor of economics at the Geneva School of Economics and Management of the University of Geneva. His research interests lie at the intersection of political economy, environmental economics and development economics. He currently focuses in explaining the roots of civil conflicts, riots and other form of political violence. He is a member of the CEPR Research and Policy Network (RPN)  on "Preventing Conflict: Policies for Peace".  In parallel, he is also interested on studying the impact of online learning and hybrid teaching methods on students achievements.  He has published in scientific journals such as the Journal of the European Economic Association, the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management or  the American Journal of Agricultural Economics.. He has worked on several policy reports for a number of institutions such as the United Nations, NGOs and Governments.  He is co-editor of the Swiss Journal of Economics and Statistics and he is the co-director of the Institute of Economics and Econometrics.

 

The main objective of this webinar is to introduce students to economics and to present the fundamental concepts underlying the discipline. At the end of the webinar, students will be able to better understand the economic environment around them and address some of the major questions of our time (inequalities, global warming, inflation, etc.).
