The Future of HEiE- online conversation
It's been three weeks already since we held a virtual coffee table conversation about the future of higher education in emergencies (HEiE) with our team leaders in Azraq and Kakuma refugee camps - Thanks to everyone who participated and for the thoughtful inputs and inspiring questions. While the sanitary situation seems to be improving in both camps, refugees still face numerous barriers with regard to the access to education: The recognition of skills and previous learning, lack of material, lack of language skills, difficult access to the internet, and the high competition for scholarships are just a few of them. InZone and its partners are committed to supporting refugee students in their endeavors to access education through empowerment, innovation and offering new, cutting-edge and relevant courses. Our most important takeaway? These conversations are meaningful and need to be held more often!
