InZone Tutor Day, First Edition
The first edition of the InZone Tutor Day - an online event dedicated to volunteer English tutors supporting refugee students - has bought together an international team of dedicated and talented tutors, InZone’s teams in Azraq and Kakuma camps, and our academic partners, Arizona State University and The Partnership for Digital Learning and Increased Access (PADILEIA).
In October 2020, InZone launched its first English language tutoring scheme to support English enhancement opportunities offered in Azraq camp, Jordan, in partnership with ASU and Padileia.
Since then, more than 60 refugee students enrolled in online English courses have been supported by tutors to develop their speaking and writing skills on a weekly basis, in small, tailored tutoring groups.
Tutor Day has been an opportunity for current tutors to meet the InZone teams and leadership, to learn about the 2022 academic offer, and to benefit from an up-skilling session lead by ASU and King’s College London (Padileia).
The tutors have been working with InZone on a voluntary basis, donating 2-3 hours of their time per week to teach refugee students online. They are an essential component of our language learning ecosystem, and InZone would like to thank each and everyone of them for their outstanding work!
