Nicola Carboni est chercheur postdoctoral au sein du projet Visual Contagions et chargé de cours à l'Université de Genève, où il donne des cours sur les images numériques, l'histoire de l'art numérique et les données culturelles. Précédemment, il a été Fellow à SARI (Swiss Art Research Infrastructure) - Université de Zurich et Fellow en Humanités numériques au Harvard Center for Italian Renaissance Studies. Il a terminé son doctorat sur le thème de la documentation visuelle du patrimoine au CNRS MAP (Centre national de la recherche scientifique - Modèles Et Simulations Pour L’architecture Et Le Patrimoine) où il a également été précédemment nommé boursier Marie Curie. Il travaille sur l'intersection entre les graphes de connaissances, le big data visuel et l'interprétation culturelle.
