Tomislav Socanac is currently pursuing his PhD in Linguistics at the University of Geneva. He is specialized in syntax, particularly in the area of minimalism. He has obtained his BA degrees in English and Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Geneva, and holds an MA degree in English language from the same University. The subject of his MA dissertation was the syntax of English wh-questions. He defended his dissertation in June 2010 under the supervision of Genoveva Puskas. He is currently working as a doctoral candidate on the project "La syntaxe du subjonctif", together with Genoveva Puskas, Ur Shlonsky and Léna Baunaz.
