| Description | In this talk, I will discuss how the theoretical framework of Construction Grammar can be applied to the study of language change. The central question underlying the discussion will be the following: If we adopt a constructional perspective, how does this change what we see in the data? The theoretical considerations will be illustrated with a case study of constructional change in the recent history of English, namely the development of concessive parenthetical constructions.
