| Description | Future tense is a hybrid category between tense and mood. In Italian its syntactic status has not received much attention in comparison to its semantic value. Nonetheless it has some syntactic peculiarities. In my talk I will present some of these peculiarities in Standard Italian and Veronese dialect and I will discuss its semantic and its syntactic features. I claim that the “two-face” status of future tense influences its syntactic distribution. |
