This repo contains the transcription of 18th c. French manuscripts, from a composite corpus: correspondences of plantation owners in the French Caribbean, individual soldiers' and colonial officers' files, court cases from the holdings of the Secrétariat de la Marine.

Data comes from the project entitled "Masculinités esclavagistes : genre et violence dans la Caraïbe française (XVIIIème siècle)", led by Marie Houllemare, at Geneva University (Switzerland), financed by SNSF. Transcriptions are made by Elodie Bascoul, Marion Philip and Méloé Maillard, with the support of Simon Gabay and Thomas Gauffroy-Naudin, with escriptorium.
