promoting quality mathematics education
The Fondation l'Enseignement Mathématique's mission is to promote quality mathematics education, particularly at the university level, by encouraging research through the publication of mathematical works. The foundation publishes "L'Enseignement Mathématique", an international journal founded in Geneva in 1899 by Henri Fehr, and issues other publications, including monographs that present the state of development of various areas of mathematics.
In addition to publishing, the foundation awards mathematics prizes and supports projects to popularize mathematics through Genève Évasions Mathématiques (G·EM), which is a structure at the University of Geneva dedicated to scientific mediation in mathematics. G·EM's activities focus on activities, content creation, and training, and it welcomes researchers, schoolchildren, and the general public.
