Alessio Ranallo obtained his PhD. in Mathematics under the supervision of Roberto Longo with a thesis in Algebraic Quantum Field Theory (AQFT), in particular investigating how typical operator algebraic tools such as Tomita-Takesaki modular theory can be used to study quantum information theory and complexity.
In December 2023, he joined Antti Knowles' Group. His work focuses on the spectral properties of random graphs. His main research interests are in mathematical physics and probability theory, in particular: Random graphs, gap stability in quantum lattice systems, operator algebras, (quantum) complexity and information theory.
