Benedek's mathematical interests lie at the intersection of combinatorics and representation theory. He completed his MSc at the University of Bonn, where he did his thesis on chromatic symmetric functions and Hessenberg varieties. Starting in September 2023, his PhD project will delve into the connections between partition identities and crystal bases (of affine Lie algebra representations).
